Perth-based ‘Austal’ does it again!
In an exclusive article in The Australian, written by Brendan Nicholson, it becomes clearer than ever before, that Austal is one of Australia’s best!
With a history of success in the shipbuilding industry, Austal has recently won two major contracts, with both Spain and the United States. This is set to significantly boost the Australian Shipbuilding Industry!
The Spanish contract is for two high-speed tri-maran ferries to operate in Spain’s Canary Islands, costing a total of $190 million. The U.S contract is for another warship for the U.S Navy, which is the result of previous success with the U.S Military.
This isn’t the only work in the pipeline for Austal with the U.S Navy, with the W.A-based company announcing recently their contract to build a 15th Independence-class littoral combat ship for the U.S, bring the total sales of such ships by Austal to over $8.5 Billion!
Despite other shipbuilding companies struggling in an industry filled with delays and uncertainty, Austal has proved their weight in gold (or shall we say, ships!)
An Australian success story that is second-to-none, by a company that had humble beginnings building crayfishing boats 20 years ago.
